Now for Something Completely Different: Melania Trump Drops Video Defending Her ‘Nude Modeling Work’

Just 45 days before an enormous presidential election that will define the country’s future, and perhaps even democracy itself, former First Lady Melania Trump has weighed in.

The elusive wife of former President Donald Trump is a former model who sat for a significant number of clients and art projects, some of which she was featured either nude or scantily clad. It’s not clear where she is feeling the heat of criticism of her nude modeling career, but it is enough for her to post a video defending her nude modeling work in a video posted on social media.

Dramatic classical music can be heard playing underneath Ms. Trump’s voiceover, as she says:

Why do I stand proudly behind my nude modeling work? The more pressing question is why has the media chosen to scrutinize my celebration of the human Forum in a fashion photoshoot? Are we no longer able to appreciate the beauty of the human body? Throughout history, master artists have revered the human shape, evoking profound emotions and admiration. We should honor our bodies and embrace the timeless tradition of using art as a powerful means of self-expression.

She is correct in noting the historic reverence of the human shape, particularly by artists. It is NOT yet clear, however, why she felt the need to address this issue so close to a presidential election that is currently neck and neck.
