‘There IS Something Real Here’: Some Level Of UFO Knowledge Is Being Covered Up By Gov’t, Journalist And Congressman Tell Chuck Todd

Author and journalist Garrett Graff and Tennessee Republican Rep. Tim Burchett told NBC’s Chuck Todd on Sunday that the government is not telling Americans everything that is known about the UFO or UAP phenomenon.

Meet the Press Reports did an extensive report on UFOs on Sunday that included reporting from Sam Brock as well as several interviews with experts and guests.

When Todd spoke to Graff and Burchett, the focus was on what the government may or may not know and how to get transparency on the subject, something that a bipartisan group of lawmakers that includes Burchett have been pushing for.

Todd first asked Graff, author of the book “UFO: The Inside Story of the U.S. Government’s Search for Alien Life Here — and Out There” about what he’s learned that the average citizen doesn’t know about.

“You spent a couple of years researching the government’s history with UFO, something the congressman has been trying to get the government to be more transparent about. So let me start with you. What is one thing you’ve learned about UFOs that the public doesn’t know about?” asked Todd.

“There is something real here,” Graff answered. “There are things out there in our air space that we do not understand what they are, and that those could represent exquisite new adversary technology, but they could also represent science that we don’t understand.”

He also said he believes “the government is covering up some level of its knowledge and understanding about what some of those things are.”

What he is not yet convinced of, he said, “is that the government is covering up meaningful knowledge of, you know, alien spacecraft, alien visitors, extraterrestrial contact.”

He noted in answer to a question a bit later in the discussion that one reason NASA doesn’t have any evidence of alien life passing through the solar system is that humans don’t have any technology that would detect anything passing through at lower than light speed that’s smaller a football field.

Congressman Burchett said his motivation is “transparency” from the government about what they know and aren’t telling us.

“Congressman, you’ve, look, you’ve pushed this issue a little bit. Curious why. What what got you started on this issue?” said Todd.

“Transparency,” Burchett replied. “You know, since 1947, they’ve told us these things don’t exist, yet harry Reid funded, very well funded millions of dollars towards research of it. And and they spent a whole heck of a lot of time, effort. And money on telling the American public they don’t exist, but yet they’re studying. Case in point, I proposed an amendment to the FAA reauthorization bill and it basically just said if a commercial airline pilot were to spot some anomaly or a UFO, as we used to call them, and they would issue a report to the FAA, which they would, but also that report would be made to Congress.”

Well, it was blocked. The whip told me that it was blocked. And I said, why was it blocked? He said the intelligence community blocked it. And I said, wait a minute. You mean you mean the committee? And he said, no the community.”

“If it doesn’t exist, then why do they keep spending the money to tell us?” he said at one point.
